A proud native of the Boston area, Lucy Warren-Whitman started her early classical training
at North Atlantic Ballet under her parents Rachel Whitman and Skip Warren. She was then,
mentored by Larissa Luvisichuk until she was accepted to Walnut Hill, School of Performing
Arts as a scholarship student. There she had the pleasure of training under Samuel Kurkjian,
Diedre Miles, Tamara King and Sydelle Gomberg. She then returned to North Atlantic Ballet
for her apprenticeship with the company.
Lucy has since been a featured artist and choreographer dancing and creating new works for
The Massachusetts Dance Festival, Spindle City Ballet, Boston Dance Company, Contrapose
Dance, BalletRox, Pioneer Valley Ballet and Lorraine Chapman The Dance Company.
She began developing her voice as a teacher at the young age of thirteen and has been
teaching in the Boston area for over twenty years and currently teaches at Ballet Arts Center
and Wilmington Dance Academy.
In 2013 She reformed North Atlantic Ballet as North Atlantic Dance Theatre. As a touring
company NADT has been building relationships with theatres throughout New England,
creating new story and contemporary ballets along with presenting classical works that are
rarely seen. As Director of the company Lucy has encouraged the growth of its youth
programming through an apprenticeship program alongside its professional company to train
youth for the Ballet profession.
In 2018 Lucy founded IPAC (Interdisciplinary Performing Arts Center) with Lorraine Chapman
out of a desire to create a space where artists of all disciplines can create together under one
